Very moist and perfect every time.
1 c. butter
1/3 c. cocoa
2 c. flour
2 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Preheat oven to 375F. Grease one 9" x 13" pan. In a large saucepan combine butter, cocoa and 1 cup of water. Bring to a boil stirring constantly. Remove from heat, let cool. In a large bowl combine flour, sugar, salt and soda. Stir in eggs, buttermilk and vanilla. Add cocoa mixture and mix until well blended ( I use a wire whisk). Pour into prepared pan and bake 15 to 20 min. or until toothpick inserted comes out clean. Top with your favorite icing.
