Raisin Pudding

Place 1 cup raisins in bottom of 9x9 pan. Make batter of 1 Tbsp. shortening, 1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup milk, 1/2 cup flour, 1 tsp. baking powder, 1/2 tsp. soda. Cover fruit with batter. Make syrup of 2/3 cup brown sugar, 1 1/4 cups hot water and pour over batter. Bake 30 min. in 350 oven.
