Oh so delicious, I searched for this for years - from my favorite Japanese Restaurant (who wouldn't divulge recipe)
Use for stir-fries, saute shrimp, dip green onion cakes...
2 cups light soy sauce or tamari sauce
1 cup rice wine vinegar
1/2 cup mirin or simple syrup
1 tablespoon sesame oil
1/2 cup grated fresh ginger
1/4 cup minced garlic
1 1/2 cups (1 bunch) scallions, white and green sliced very thin on the bias
2 teaspoons chili garlic paste or hot sauce (optional)
2 tablespoons sesame seeds for garnish
Here's the smaller version, makes about 1 cup:
1/2 c. light soy or tamari sauce
1/4 cup rice wine vinegar
2 Tbsp. mirin or simple syrup
1/4 tsp. sesame oil
2 Tbsp. grated fresh ginger
1 Tbsp. minced garlic
3 scallions, white and green sliced very thin on the bias
1/2 teaspoons chili garlic paste or hot sauce (optional)
1/2 tablespoons sesame seeds for garnish
Mix, refrigerate & garnish w seeds before serving.
Put in a glass jar & it lasts months in the fridge if you omit the green onions.
